Selamta Sponsorship Program

The Selamta Sponsorship Program provides real opportunity for individuals and families to make a significant difference in the life of a child or sibling group that has lost one or both parents to AIDS or other diseases. We are grateful for all of our Sponsors as they make a personal commitment to one of our important sponsorship levels.

As part of our Outreach Program, Selamta Sponsors fund intact families in which the head-of-household is HIV-positive or suffering from other chronic illness. The family remains in their own home.  The children go to school and have nutritious food on the table each day. Selamta provides support to their primary caregiver, often times a grandmother or aunt, to ensure that she has access to the proper medication and treatment plan to stabilize and improve her own health condition. The entire family is always welcome to celebrate and share family times at Selamta. Our hopes are to keep the family together in light of all personal circumstances.

Our most common sponsorship program is a multi-year pledge of support for an individual child and/or sibling group living at Selamta. We offer two levels of sponsorship: Leadership Development provides support for education and enrichment and Daily Necessities provides support for important basic needs such as food, clothing and medical care. Additionally, our Full Sponsorship provides all necessary funds to support a child or sibling group, combining both the Leadership and Daily Necessities levels.
