Abel Solomon

In October 2008, Carol appointed Abel Solomon as Selamta’s Country Representative. Abel first joined Selamta in November 2007, acting as Accounting Manager. His devotion to our children and good business sense earned him due recognition and promotion. Abel brings his heart and soul to the Selamta Family providing strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and best practices all to benefit our children at Selamta.

Abel has a BSC Degree in Management and a Diploma in Accounting, both from Unity University College. Born in Addis Ababa, Abel spends his days counseling and listening to the children and keeping Selamta’s operations running smoothly. In addition, Abel is responsible for maintaining contact and good relationships with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. Abel and his wife Beza are newlyweds, living in the Bethel neighborhood of Addis where they are enjoying their new home.

Eskedar Sisay

Eskedar Sisay is our director in charge of the day-to-operations and well-being at the Children’s Center. Eskedar has worked at Selamta from the very beginning, and she knows each child personally. She is also responsible for training our new Moms and Aunties. Married with one small child of her own, Eskedar is devoted to our children. She is kind, patient and full of smiles that makes her a favorite among our Moms, Aunties and volunteers, too.
